Club Beat #105: Manuel de la Mare & Luigi Rocca, Across The Universe

With their New Years Eve performance at Ministry of Sound less than a fortnight away, we take a look at Manuel de la Mare and Luigi Rocca’s latest offering on 303Lovers.

Across The Universe is a grooving, building tech house track that takes us back to nights spent sweating on the dancefloor of Space Ibiza. The deep bass, synth groove and those crisp drums provide steady momentum; the vocal samples take it to another level and, just as it feels as if it’s going to spin out of control, the track is reigned right back in again by that groove. At Planet Notion, we wondered if Across The Universe was an homage to the Beatles track of the same name, which Manuel has stated to be one of the songs he can’t live without. Not that the tracks sound at all alike, but it gave us something to think about… before that groove distracted us again!

Manuel de la Mare and Luigi Rocca’s Across The Universe is available now on 303Lovers and you can catch them performing with Alex Kenji as Forza on New Years Eve at Ministry of Sound.
