Preview: Horizon Festival, Bulgaria

It’s hard not to have your attention piqued when a press release arrives in your inbox describing a “hedonistic week of underground electronic music,” let alone one that goes on to reveal that said week is taking place against the breathtaking backdrop of the Pirin mountains in Southern Bulgaria. Well, with March’s Horizon Festival, that’s exactly what you get.

Running from March 23-29, Horizon will see a veritable who’s who of producers – covering house, garage, dubstep, techno and almost any other danceable electronic genre – taking to piste-adjacent stages for a furious week of music, skiing and cheap drink. Performers include dubstep pacesetter and DMZ member Loefah, Numbers co-founder Jackmaster, future garage trio Dark Sky, and the legendary Alex Arnout.

With all-inclusive packages encompassing accommodation, festival tickets and ski passes starting for as low as £265 per person, you’d be well advised to get in there early, or else you’ll run the risk of being left out in the cold.
