BEAUTIFY: Caudalie’s Vineyard

Caudalie, for those of you who don’t know, is the French ‘cosm-ethics’ brand based in Bordeaux where organic grape water and grape-seed oil are extracted from the grapes in the family run vineyard to create the all natural but oh-so effective Vinolevure formula that is present in all Caudalie products. The brand has revolutionised the way grapes are seen in the beauty world- we’ve always known they’re great for wine, but now we also now that the Grape-seed Polyphenols is the most powerful anti-oxidant in the plant world, the Resveratrol from grapevine stalks has created an anti-ageing revolution, plus the Viniferine from grapevine sap is the most effective natural molecule against dark spots. Pretty impressive for a grape, right?

Therefore it’s no surprise that Caudalie products are fast becoming some of the most coveted products available. The Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid SPF15 is an oil free moisturiser that is ideal for daily use to protect the skin and reduce the appearance of pores and dark spots. It’s also one of the best selling products.

New to the range is the Premier Cru vintage (we do love a tongue in cheek name) from the Bordeaux vineyard that blends the house’s three star ingredients in their highest concentration. What’s so great about having the three ingredients together in such potency is that that’s when they work to their best potential- skin is firmer, denser, smoother and more even.

The Cosm-Ethics (Cosm’Ethique if you’re feeling fancy) ethos of the brand comes from the founder Mathilde Thomas’ who believes that women shouldn’t have to choose between ‘effectiveness and naturalness, between glamour and ecology.’ Quite right. And that’s why the Caudalie packaging and products are made from recycled and recyclable paper and plastics, whilst the Caudalie Laboratory and Logistics Centre have set up 12 recycling systems to reduce waste and and consumption of raw materials.

I think we’re in love. Oh, and they have a spa.
