Introducing: RDGLDGRN

It seems that pretty much everyone wants a piece of Washington DC based trio RDGLDGRN (pronounced Red Gold Green) at the moment. It all started with the acclaimed release of their up-tempo indie/hip-hop single ‘I Love Lamp’ late last year, which not only caused plenty of excitement via that thing called YouTube, but also caught the attention of a lot of the music media big dogs.

Nirvana/Foos drummer/rock god extraordinaire Dave Grohl was so impressed with the boys that he offered to play drums for their debut album, which was recorded at Sound City Studios in California and is set for release this summer. And it’s not just rock royalty that are into RDGLDGRN. The hip-hop community has also been won over by the band’s one-of a-kind sound, so much so that Pharrell Williams has co-written and co-produced track ‘Doing the Most’, whilst long time Beastie Boys producer Mario Caldato remixed the band’s debut single ‘Million Fans’. Impressive.

Inspired by old school indie go-go, RDGLDGRN‘s debut EP is a breezy rock symphony of catchy guitar riffs, heavy bass lines, hip hop vocals and some impeccable drum work from the mighty Grohl.
