More music and comedy for the Big Mix

Mixed arts Shoreditch event The Big Mix has added more to its 2013 line-up. Slow Club have now been confirmed as support act to Jesca Hoop, playing a very special stripped down two piece show at Hoxton Hall this June. The Yeah So duo join other acts including Tom Mcrae, Nadine Shah, Lady Lamb The Beekeeper, and Itchy Feet for the festival’s ‘Presents’ series of live music events that run alongside The Big Mix itself which features cabaret, comedy, an East London treasure hunt, screenings from Soho Shorts and a whole cavalcade of other interesting tidbits on the first weekend of next month.

American comedian Scott Capurro has also been unveiled as the comedy headliner, bringing some bitter wit and sharp venom to proceedings. According to his biog he’s “avoided AIDS by telling unsavoury jokes in every English speaking country,” but most people will recognise him from any one of a dozen TV appearances over the last few months, his style falling somewhere between Larry Grason and Chris Rock.

Other acts on the comedy line-up include Steph Peart, Oyster Eyes, Marcel Lucont and Holly Burn, while there’s also Comedy Bingo, international burlesque sensation Lady Beau Peep and clown-magician Magi. All of the performances happen over one weekend in some of East London’s vest venues and spaces including Rich Mix, Drunken Money, Queen of Hoxton, The Book Club and BOXPARK. Weekend tickets are available for £25 here.
