World Oceans Day 2013 with Crème de la Mer

As a beauty brand whose products and heritage relies almost solely on the sea it’s no surprise that Crème de la Mer is supporting World Oceans Day 2013 by creating a limited edition 100ml jar whose proceeds will go towards the BLUE Marine Foundation. Not only will this support conservation efforts in the UK but also raise awareness of the fragility of the sea.

And it’s no surprise either that the Limited Edition pot is damn gorgeous. Inspired by the ocean itself- this is one pot you’ll want to keep forever. Plus you know you’re helping save the ocean (and the skin on your face). Crème de la Mer is supporting Selfridges’ Project Ocean, and the pot will be sold there along with 24 (yes, that’s it) limited edition Project Ocean Lip Balm embellished with Swarovski Elements.

World Oceans Day began in 1992 and this year takes place on 8th June. It serves to recognise the importance of the sea as a vital ecosystem and to help preserve its delicate – and in danger- wildlife. For Crème de la Mer, this is a tribute not only to their heritage but to their founder, Dr. Max Huber, who recognised the value of the living ocean, and it is through using it as a source that he managed to create a cream that could use sea kelp as a beauty product that renewed and restored the look of skin.

Here at Notion we were very honoured to be one of the first to shoot the Limited Edition jar, which is available from 18th May onwards at Selfridges, and 1st June onwards nationwide. If anything, guys, if we don’t look after the Ocean, we won’t be able to slather our faces in Crème de la Mer for the rest of our lives. Which, obviously, is the most important thing.
