News: River Island collaborates with Eudon Choi

River Island‘s Design Forum initiative has already seen William Tempest, Georgia Hardinge, and most recently T.Lipop produce one-off collections for them, but this time around RI have taken young Korean-born designer Eudon Choi under their wing. The former senior designer at AllSaints and Twenty8Twelve has created an exclusive 16-piece collection that will be available from 23rd September. Easily-identifiable by his masculine stamp on womenswear design, this new collection for RI will see no shortage of soft leathers, clean streamlined pieces, biker detailing, alongside what RI ambiguously describe as, ‘a carefully put together colour palette’. The spotlight will be on wearable but luxe-looking clothing, and this will all be at competitive high street prices ranging from £30 to £250.

Choi has talked about his collaboration with River Island, saying, “As an emerging designer, the opportunity to work with a major high street retailer is an incredible opportunity. My mainline collections are sold in high-end stores and I love the idea that people all over the UK will be able to buy this collection.”

RI will be teaming up yet again with Fash/On Film — who are an initiative created to encourage filmmaking as a medium in the fashion industry — to celebrate the new designer’s collection. This is after the tidal wave success of their most recent event with Fash/On Film promoting T.Lipop’s collection.
