Introducing: Tirzah

Dancefloor tracks are coming in thick and fast at the moment, but we are loving the sounds of Tirzah. Her EP ‘I’m Not Dancing’ is slated for release on August 5th through Greco-Roman records.

The EP has been produced by London-based Micachu, aka Mica Levi of the experimental pop band Micachu and the Shapes. The pair had worked together prior to ‘I’m Not Dancing’, as they saw their track ‘Go Now’ – recorded back in 2005- generate a huge amount of interest. The two parted ways to follow their retrospective careers, only to reunite later on this new EP. Mica debuted the infectious ‘I’m Not Dancing’ last year when she dropped into Boiler Room, where she caused a ruckus with a surprise set made up entirely of her own productions and remixes. ‘I’m Not Dancing’ makes the most of minimal production, with Tirzah’s assertive vocals overlaying a killer percussion beat. Just over two minutes in length, the track captivates you with mesmerising effect. Pre-order the track here.
