New track: Yuck – Middle Sea

Lo-Fi favourites Yuck have given us a tantelising glimpse into upcoming album Glow & Behold with their new taster track Middle Sea.

Lifted directly from Glow & Behold and debuted on Radio 1 this week, Middle Sea follows Rebirth as proof that Yuck’s critically-acclaimed and fan-adored 2011 self-titled debut wasn’t simply a moment of brilliance but merely the beginning of the band’s greatness, despite their former frontman Daniel Blumberg departing from the band earlier this year.

Embodying Yuck’s trademark brain-fuzzed soundscape, Middle Sea is an anthemic stonker that possesses both melancholic underlays and glorious wistful overtones. The composition is wall of sound-esque yet the whirling and marauding guitar pierces through with delightful ease whilst vocals and percussion create an impenetrable backline; the result being complete isolation and enthrallment of the listener.

Yuck’s second album Glow & Behold is due for release 30th September on Pharmacy/Fat Possum.
