Event: Photography masterclass at Truman Brewery

The Truman Brewery is set to host a photography event  where people can learn more about traditional photography techniques, including the fading art of dark room processing and analogue cameras.

Hosted by Hush Puppies as part of their Dog Day’s series, the organisers are encouraging people to take part on the night by offering the chance to rent 35mm cameras and develop their own film. An ever-growing gallery of analogue photography will also be on show. Photography experts will be on hand throughout the night, fielding questions and hosting masterclasses in their art. Classes available during the event include: how to make a pin-hole camera and a street walk with established street photographers.

Organiser Debbie  Sears has commented on the current traditional photography trend: “We want to encourage digital users to experience the magical workings of analogue photography – it’s a great opportunity to learn a new skill…revealing the traditional methods used to achieve great imagery. For anyone who enjoys taking pictures this is an opportunity not to be missed.”

The Hush Puppies Dark Room will take place at The Truman Brewery 23rd – 26th August 12pm – 8pm. More information can be found at the Hush Puppies Facebook page. Entry is free!
