Introducing: Cadenza

True to its name, ‘The Darkest Hype‘, a track from London-based producer Cadenza, has been garnering a steady spree of attention this summer – largely thanks to a whirlwind, acid-tongued re-imagining from Philip D. Kick (Om Unit) featuring guest vocals from fast-rising New York rapper Deena Jonez. It’s been around a lot longer than you might imagine, though.

As Dummy reports, it was being played in David Rodigan sets as far back as 2011. Having seen a long-due release back in July on Dummy Records and with Cadenza now signed to Diplo’s Mad Decent imprint, there’s never been a better time to delve into the imposing, ferocious dancehall of ‘The Darkest Hype’.
