New Track: Jungle – ‘The Heat’

Washing ashore on a wave of retweets, reblogs and various other methods of re-prefixed social media sharing, elusive London duo Jungle returned to us last night with ice-cool – don’t let its title fool you – second single ‘The Heat‘. As sirens ring out in the background, funk-tinged basslines and stuttering beats come together in pure, unadulterated smoothness; bringing to mind 70s downtown NY during one of that city’s infamously hot summers. It’s another exceptionally strong early outing from the pair, following on from their debut AA-side, ‘Platoon‘/’Drops‘.

The band have also just announced their first live dates, hopefully offering a chance to learn more about this mysterious partnership:

Oct 10: Manchester, The Roadhouse
Oct 17: Brighton, Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar
Oct 24: Leeds, Belgrave Music Hall
Oct 30: Sheffield, The Harley

- Alex Cull

‘The Heat’/'Lucky I Got What I Want’ sees an official release on October 21 via Chess Club Records.
