Track Premiere: Snakadaktal – ‘Fall Underneath’

Melbourne 5-piece Snakadaktal wowed us earlier this year with a set at Brighton’s Great Escape festival that perfectly balanced power and preciousness. Nowhere are these qualities in a more notable state of equilibrium than on ‘Fall Underneath’, the latest track to be unveiled from the antipodean quintet’s forthcoming – on these shores at least, it’s already available in Oz – debut album, Sleep in the Water.

Building to boiling point on a gently ascending slew of woozy, mildewy synths and pitter-pattering guitars, it’s a turn to the more reserved side of bliss; tranquil without ever being formless. An engrossing appetiser for what to expect from Sleep in the Water, one that’ll move your mind and feet in equal measure.

- Alex Cull

Sleep in the Water is available now in Australia via Liberation Music, with a UK release due in the near future.
