Preview: WHP 2013

Manchester super-rave, The Warehouse Project, kicked off this weekend with the first of a full three months worth of events from a lineup so extensive that if your favourite DJ hasn’t been booked, they probably shouldn’t be your favourite DJ.

The 2013 season opened with Swedish House Mafia’s Axwell and electro house producer Armand Van Halen headlining on Friday, followed by Seth Troxler, Loco Dice and KiNK who treated music-lovers to a live set on Saturday.

If you’re reading this then you’ve either A) had a really great weekend (in which case you’re probably still feeling a bit fragile, have a Berocca and a bacon sandwich) or B) missed out on one (yeah, never thought you’d see the day you were unhappy about not being hungover, did you?) The good news is that whichever of the aforementioned categories you fall into, there’s plenty more WHP where nights one and two came from.

Check out ‘Modeselektion’ on Friday 11th October for a live set from Modeselektor (and a dj set later on) and dj sets from SBTRKT, Scuba, Dusky, Boddika and more than a few more.

On the following Friday (18th October), the likes of Steve Angello, Matt Everson, Nick Coulson and No Curfew will be providing the sounds for ‘Size Matters’, ahead of a night curated by Julio Bashmore (Saturday 26th Oct) featuring a performance from Laurent Garnier, Derrick Carter, Cassus and Henrik Schwarz and the man himself, once again to name but a few.

Looking ahead to November, Warehouse will see Netsky, Camo & Krooked, Zinc, High Contrast and Zinc play on the 29th for ‘Hospitality’.

We also just realised how scarily close Christmas is, as also on the schedule is ‘Diynamic’ on December 28th, for which Solomun, Stimming, David August and Nick Curly are currently billed – with more acts to be announced. That gives you a full three days to get from wherever you went home to for your Turkey and booze to Trafford Park. No excuses.
