Event Preview: Night Tales

Launching on 7th November, Night tales combines street food, cocktails and live DJ sets in a mystical winter hang out. The event comes from the team behind Dalston Roof Park and Background Bars, who will be hosting the six week project in a transformed East London car park and Underground bunker, running from Thursday through to Saturday every week in the build up till Christmas.

The Food
Taking residency are Southern US BBQ joint, Smokey Tails, as well as a hand picked selection of London’s most in-demand restaurants including Patty and Bun. Further wetting our appetites, the Japanese gyoza bar from Rainbo will serving up some of their trademark dish’s. Night Tales will also be supporting the Jamie Oliver Fifteen Apprentice Programme, offering graduates the opportunity to trade to Londoners for the evening.

The Drink
At Night Tales you can expect to see their most ambitious bar set ups and cocktail menus yet. The mysterious Mexican spirit ‘Mezcal’ will feature on the Mezzanine, presenting ‘Tales of Mezcal.’ Beer drinkers are catered for with a wide selection of European Craft Beers, alongside ‘The Negroni Station’, serving Bourbon Negroni. And let’s not forget about those winter warmers – Mulled Wine, Hot Spiced Cider & a Absinthe Hot Chocolate

The Music
Bringing an eclectic mix of night culture to East London, Night Tales have built a raised stage area and proudly present a fine tuned programme of live music and entertainment to sooth the senses. Renowned DJ’s and Smokey Tails founders, Seth Troxler and Ryan Crosson will be making surprise appearances on the decks, with special sets from Disco Bloodbath, Bee Shiver, Tayo and Bad Passion. The Vortex Jazz Club own the stage for ‘Jazz Saturdays’ and locally born radio station, NTS Radio, present their revered DJ roster across the six week span, offering a progressive mix of sounds to the Night Tales community.

The Setting
The pioneering two-tiered structure spanning over 25m offers a raised platform mezzanine so you can soak up the atmosphere from above. Intimate seating areas are available on both floors and the space is dressed with warm lighting and planted trees providing the perfect scene for winters new hang-out spot. To ensure the winter elements are fully encompassed, Night Tales is covered with a stretch canopy allowing guests to eat, drink, mingle and be merry under cover.
