BEAUTIFY: Portable Radiance

Is it just me, or did this winter come around pretty suddenly this year?

It seemed that after the hot summer the temperature hung around the 17-degree mark for two months before suddenly plummeting a few weeks ago.  This shift in temperature has meant that not only is almost everyone I know full of a cold, but it’s also played havoc with my skin.  The combination of the cold, central heating and having my face almost constantly buried in a scarf has left me with skin so dry it needs a bit more help to look even relatively normal, and numerous touch ups throughout the day to combat the winter winds.

This is where my army of portable products comes in to play.  Compacts and palettes are a godsend, and anything that can be applied without the use of a brush is doubly useful.  The new NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation married together the usefulness of portability whilst still being strong enough to compact horrible winter skin.  As with many cream based or compact foundations it gives a heavier coverage than some liquid foundations, a feature that is more than welcome at this time of year.  Wonderfully, though, the NARS foundation still blends beautifully on the skin, providing a strong coverage without feeling too heavy.  It can be applied wet or dry and is designed to restore the skin’s moisture so is perfect for combating the dryness that so often emerges in the winter.

Combined with the iconic matte NARS packaging, it’s altogether a gorgeous product.   It’s available in twenty shades and you can also buy a customisable palette that includes a mirror and space for a sponge for total ease of use when you’re hopping between Christmas parties next month.
