Absolut X Rafael Grampá: Next Frame

We’ve written about Absolut’s collaboration with Brazilian graphic novelist, Rafael Grampá, before after he was commissioned with transforming the iconic bottles with designs that exemplified Latin America’s Carnival. Now, as part of Transform Today, Absolut has announced Next Frame, a collab that invites users to submit plot decisions about an original graphic novel created by Grampá as he writes it. Once the story is complete, the work will be transformed into an animated film, which will make its premiere at MADE in Berlin.

The project follows from the Transform Today mantra that ‘The future is not a given, it’s yours to create’, and will push Grampá’s on-the-fly technique to his work based on interaction from users around the world. However, it also permits users to push their creative boundaries.

“With Next Frame, I have the chance to do something I’ve never done before by co-writing the story with users online, and also by turning the illustrated story into my own animated film” says Rafael Grampá. “It’s a very exciting project, and I’m happy to be working with a brand that allows me to try new things in the way I work.”

Participation for Next Frame is open now and closes on February 21st. The collaborative film will have its premiere on March 15th.
