Video: ‘Pantha du Prince & The Bell Laboratory: The New Sequence’

Imagine floating through outer space, in zero gravity, your eyes are closed and the images of the distant galaxies are imprinted on the inside of your eyelids, flashing spots of different colour. Or simply picture almost anything else just as surreal and exciting. If you are having trouble with that, we have something that is guaranteed to boost your creative powers and let you embark on your imaginary journey.

Allow us to introduce the unbelievable results of the collaboration between the electronic music genius Hendrik Weber (Pantha du Prince) and the world’s renowned percussionists The Bell Laboratory, as presented in Abelton ‘Pantha du Prince & The Bell Laboratory: The New Sequence’.

Thanks to numerous rehearsals, dedication and high involvement of all parties in the creative process, the musicians managed to create their own view of the minimalist classic by Terry Riley, ‘In C’. In the short documentary, Hendrik Weber, a solo electronic artist, delves into what had inspired him to seek cooperation with the acoustic musicians, as well as the details and the challenges of the working in such an ensemble. The process of the collaboration between Pantha du Prince and The Bell Laboratory came to the spectacular culmination as the series of sold-out shows around the world demonstrates. The documentary features parts of the performance at the Barbican Centre in London. Together with the Joshua Light Show, Pantha du Prince and The Bell Laboratory had managed to create a remarkable audio-visual spectacle.
