In Focus: Hawes & Curtis

If you’re a young professional, then a good shirt is the mainstay of your wardrobe. Whether you wear it with a jacket and tie, one button undone and the sleeves rolled up or with the eternally-cool ‘air tie’ (for the uninitiated: top button done up, no tie), a good shirt will form the basis of any outfit. We’ve been having a scout around, and been really impressed lately by the offering from Jermyn St tailors Hawes & Curtis: they’ve got shirts to suit any situation, and a huge variety of collar, cuff and button detail, as well as a number of different fits, and all at a pretty reasonably price for a century-old shirtmaking outfit. Hawes & Curtis was in fact founded back in 1913 as a shirtmaker to the royals, and we reckon if it’s good enough for the Duke of Windsor, it’s good enough for us.
