Festival Preview: Outlook

When? 4th-7th September

Where? Fort Punta Christo, Croatia

Whilst almost 250,000 people around the UK are still trying to pull themselves out of post Glastonbury festival depression, there are plenty of us who are yet to take our first dose of festival fun. There is some comfort to be found in the knowledge that Glastonbury was a soggy experience for the majority but there’s no denying, below that proud exterior, that summer is just not summer without a festival. Although, if welly-sucking mud is a deal breaker for you, then Outlook festival in sunny Croatia may be just the antidote.

And you’re in luck, because tickets are still on sale and the line-up is looking delicious. This is not standard, ‘bastardised’ dance-floor music, according to the Outlook hosts. And it’s true, this year they’re serving a feast of some of the biggest music names from all over the planet. For 2014, acts include Ms Lauryn Hill, Dub FX, Busta Rhymes, Bondax, Goldie, Zed Bias, Moodymann, Barrington Levy and oh so many more.

Outlook takes place in an unparalleled venue – set in and around the 150 year old Fort Punta Christo, Croatia, punters can party on the beach, swim, sunbathe or explore by day, and revel in from Europe’s largest bass and sound system culture festival by night. The four day event offers concerts in unique venues; stages have been carefully slotted into the landscape to create an incomparable and stunning festival experience. From the 2000 year old amphitheatre where the opening concert takes place to the rustic moat and abandoned fort that welcomes you upon arrival – Outlook has a refreshingly different take on festival staging. If rustic isn’t to your taste then there are 48 boat parties and daily beach fiestas that start at noon and end when the sun sets, all just a few hundred metres from the campsite and main festival.
