My artwork, entitled "Sweat" is inspired by Simon Henwood's portraits. His work focuses frequently on the topics of youth and experience. We sweat when we win and when we lose. When we sweat we know we are living. Sweating is how we stay cool. It is unclear whether the image portrays a man who has come first over the finish line, just married or is experiencing coital pleasure. The scribbles give insight to some of my own thoughts: love, identification, approval, self-worth and pride. "Sweat" (oil on canvas) 90x70cm 2007.
