Groove Armada are starting a brand-spanking new residency at The End. No lie, bruv, NO LIE! Tom Findlay and Andy Cato threw a number of one-off parties last year at the hallowed London club and such was success that the duo have been given a permanent home at The End. I on the other hand remain homeless.
With Lovebox Presents: Bang the Box, Groove Armada are returning to their DJing roots - so expect them to spin, spin, SPIN their sweet-sounding yarn, for the yearning ears of The End faithful as the venue enters a new era.
Rather than telling you what to look forward to I’ll let Mr. Tom Findlay do the talking: “We’re really looking forward to the new residency – it’s been a long time since we played regularly on the London club scene. For the first party I’m playing the main room – I love The End’s main room for its total chaos, being right in the middle of all that mania!”
Who doesn’t love it when it gets manic? That’s music to our friggin’ ears! Tom will be bringing down the house, or rather, bringing the house to the masses in the lounge, whilst Andy Cato will be creating the party atmosphere we’ve come to know and love in The End’s main room. Naturally, we can expect the twosome to bring some brain-frying beats and banging-bass as a single entity as well.
Joining Groove Armada at Bang the Box will be some of the hottest talent on the circuit, with resident DJs and special guests appearing for your eyes only. Digz of DIY fame, Rachel Barton (she of Radio 1 notoriety) and the Lovebox Allstars are just a few of the tantalizing treats on offer. For the February event, Def Mix legend Hector Romero will be joining the party alongside Manchester masters of genre-busting and genre-skipping, the Unabombers.
AKA, meanwhile, will bring forth the legendary Nocturnal as well as The Shapeshifters, whose debauched nights are guaranteed to get the ‘ol toes tinkling. All in all, there’ll be three rooms full to the brim of happy tunes and happy people. YES BRUV!
