My, my, my… Tempus Fugit. Time is running out my party darlings. Only two days left for this one. But what the hell; it’s Benji B making an eagerly anticipated return to London’s Gramophone; one of those rare occurrences when all plans are tossed aside in haste, making way for the granddaddy cool of 1xtra.
Benji started off playing Sax as a nipper, kind of like a young John Coltrane, before hitting the decks and gaining notoriety and acclaim for his work on 1xtra and the Deviation Session - the very same Deviation Sessions that are taking place on the first Wednesday of every month all friggin’ year - ah, sweet music to my ears.
Joining Benji-B on the decks will be producer, DJ and master of visual arts, Ge-Ology. The Brooklynite is renowned for crossing the barriers between different genres, effortlessly careering from one to the next. Furthermore, his résumé says it all. Tupac? Check. Mos Def? You betcha. Welsh songstress Jem? Ohhh-yes! The man has done it all!
Expect Benji-B and Ge-Ology to blend some top tunes together at the Deviation Sessions. That means plenty of soul, a dollop of hip-hop, a sprinkle of dubstep, house, and all the trimmings.
