PLANETNOTION TELEVISION!
CAMERA-FOLK AND FILM EDITORS WANTED!
Planet Notion is looking for guys and dolls to film and edit features for its new TV channel, PNTV. Accompanying Notion to artist interviews, gigs, fashion shows, festivals and international events, you will be skilled, passionate and full of ideas about how to produce shit-hot video content. Camera-folk will be experienced and ideally have their own equipment, or at least access to equipment, while editors must be able to turn projects around quickly, and with stylistic flare. If you can both film and edit content, we would especially like to hear from you! These casual, unpaid positions would be ideal for those looking to develop their showreels, and to get the chance to travel, film major artists and top events.

Please email lucy(at)musichqmedia

"STAND, POINT AND MAKE IT HAPPEN..." Cargo 15th February
05/02/2008

Notion Magazine and Planet Notion have their collective chests puffed out, a grin upon their face like Mr. Blair on a ‘happy’ trip, and a foot tap-tap-tapping away to contain their mounting excitement. Why, you may ask, are the combined forces of Notion so giddy with anticipation?

Well soldiers, chest-out; back straight; and prepare yourself to STAND AND POINT in an orgasmic spasm of electro-fantasia! Yep-yep-yep, Notion Magazine and Planet Notion are proud to be launching their brand-spanking new bi-monthly club night, kicking off at renowned East-end venue Cargo on Friday 15th February.

Skippety-boo-bopping to Cargo with a pinch of fidget-house, a dollop of German blip-hop, a touch of electro-goth and some Italo-disco via Hackney, Notion will be bringing you the A1 in European electro talent. As well as their very own resident DJs, Planet Head and Tony Underground; yeah, baby, yeah!

First-up with beats as sick as creamed-piccalilli and basslines as phat as Jo-Brand’s waistline, will be the Count of Monte Cristal; the Voodoo Chilli himself: Hervé. One of the most in demand DJs and producers around, Hervé has remixed for dance-luminaries The Chemical Brothers, UnkleJam and New Young Pony Club - for the purists, this means he’s tippety-top of his game.

If the dark and macabre is more up your street, look no further than the electro-goth of The Black Ghosts. Cracking their creative bonces smack, bang against each other, Simon Lord of Simian fame and DJ Touché’s latest venture have been giving the club-scene a reason to STAND AND POINT up and down the country. Haunting poetry? Check. Gut-retching electro-rave? Skull and bones imagery? Oh yes!

Reverberating with a rich stew of blip-hop, ragga and electro rudeness, and one of the most hectic acts to emerge from the growing Berlin scene, Jahcoozi will be tickling the taste-buds with an exclusive live-set. Made-up of quick-fire in-your-face lyricist MC Sasha Perera, the mind-blowing Robot Koch’s beats and bleeps and Baba Massive’s awesome musical scores, Jahcoozi will leave you dizzy like a Benzedrine-daydream.

When the moon hits the sky, like a big piece of pie, hit Cargo. For the Italo-greatness of dance luminary Serge Santiago is coming at ya. Beating his own path from London’s Hackney, right through to America and beyond, Serge has been dipping his fingers in far bigger pies than moon-pie. Remixing the likes of Kylie, Justin Timberlake and The White Stripes, and famed for his coloured vinyl re-edits of classic italo and disco tracks, Santiago is a delicately-wrapped prezzie from Notion to you.

Of course, no event would be complete without Notion’s resident DJs, Planet Head and Tony Underground, bringing a whirlwind of skag-disco greatness for your delectation. Cancel the wedding, cash that cheque, put down your Camberwell Carrot and slap your face with a wet pike. Feeling better? Good. Now get yourself a-STANDing AND a-POINTing!  Words: Dave Dryden
