PLANETNOTION TELEVISION!
CAMERA-FOLK AND FILM EDITORS WANTED!
Planet Notion is looking for guys and dolls to film and edit features for its new TV channel, PNTV. Accompanying Notion to artist interviews, gigs, fashion shows, festivals and international events, you will be skilled, passionate and full of ideas about how to produce shit-hot video content. Camera-folk will be experienced and ideally have their own equipment, or at least access to equipment, while editors must be able to turn projects around quickly, and with stylistic flare. If you can both film and edit content, we would especially like to hear from you! These casual, unpaid positions would be ideal for those looking to develop their showreels, and to get the chance to travel, film major artists and top events.

Please email lucy(at)musichqmedia

Bloom on Tour 2008 at KOKO, 8th March
Bloom on Tour 2008 at KOKO, 8th March
12/02/2008
The Bloom Festival makes a welcome return in the summer but not before a pre-festival warm-up tour (much needed in this ruddy weather) kicking off on March 8th. Yes, yes, and double YES, a stellar line-up of acts and DJs will be bringing all the fun of the fair, well, festival, to Camden’s KOKO.

Two of the finest DJs North of the border, who spin their shiznit in the DJing hub of Manchester; Elektrons will be bringing their uber-funky beats to England’s capital. Justin Crawford and Luke Cowdrey’s latest venture delves into the realms of nu-soul, just about crushing every other electro-genre in their path. Take last year’s Bloom performance, a mish-mash of acid-house, disco, soul and funk. Yes, please!

A behemoth of beatsmiths, and no stranger to the ‘ol Bloom fraternity, ‘Cagebaby’ Tom Gandey will be making the not-so-distant trip from the South coast to KOKO. So too will Super Nashwan, an underground clan made-up of manic scouse rhythm, gospel singers, a hot & hard-hitting femme fatale drummer, and mind-blowing slide-guitar courtesy of Johnny Nashwan. ‘Sea Sick Steve’ is a fan… Which says far more than this lowly hack could ever dream of…

Riton, he who has been added to Notion’s ‘Stand and Point’ roster-de-roster (Cargo 15th of March), will be making waves with one of his much-fabled, groundbreaking live-shows. The up-and-coming DJ has collaborated with some of the crème-de-la-crème on the circuit, has his own record label (Switch), and is fast becoming a prominent figure on the ‘ol DJing circuit. Go see, go see, GO SEE!

Oh, and topping shenanigans off, with something a little bit different on zee night, will be the London Breakbeat Orchestra. If ever evidence was needed that there’s more to orchestral instruments than meets the eye, this posse of thirty virtuosos’s put the pudding in the proof. Turntablists, FX, and killer grooves all add to the fascinating spectacle. Naturally, DJ luminaries Neil Thornton and Johnny Hiller will be hosting one of KOKO’s bars along with Richard Sen’s Padded Cell Outfit. Tis tantalising!

As I’m sure you’ll agree, the night will sow the seeds for the Blooming summer ahead, in what’s certain to be another friggin’ fantastic year for Bloom.
