The week rolls along like a snail on a cheese-grater, my mind numb with the routine of life and work and travel, and the way that that routine only ever gets worse and never better; at least until the week is over. Then it’s high-flying, up, up and away, floating in the clouds and playing with the birds and the bees and then… and then it’s Monday again, and you come crashing down like a big fuck-off bird with a cap up its sorry arse. But let’s forget work for just a little while and concentrate on the weekend, the good times; next weekend to be precise, where a new club night will be kicking off at Bar Rhumba in the West End.
City Lights takes it’s inspiration from West End nights of yesteryear; nights like Trash and Spaced. The brain child of splitter groups from the infamous Death To All Culture Snitches, City Lights aims to fill the massive void left by The End’s imminent closure and the demise of West End nights like NagNagNag. Anyways, with all the technical hum-drum done and dusted, we’ll cut to the chase. Who’s going to be there and why the fuck should we go? Well…
STOPMAKINGME has played everywhere. Well, not everywhere, but Glastonbury and top clubs like Fabric and The End and stuff. He’ll fill your head with musical gelatine until it goes all solid and wobbles about and makes you feel all warm and tingly inside. LESSER PANDA supply the perfect soundtrack to that point when you realise that the only way is down, and you try your damndest to dance a merry dance and prevent The Fear from killing every inch of your sanity. Top drawer! Also playing on the night will be the COCADISCO DJ's, DANNY CLARK, the legendary ALEX SHERIDAN, HENRY SELIGMAN, and BEN RICHARDS & OLIVER SEAMAN.
Good, huh? Here’s the need to know…
