Let’s face it; Britain’s a God-awful place at this time of year. Jack Frost is rearing his ugly face and tickling the spine like a ruddy sex-pest, bringing the rain and the cold and the wind and O the misery, everywhere, for all to see. Much rather be on a plane to, I don’t know, Marrakech or something, with the ghost of Burroughs and the spirit of Brian Jones; sampling the food and the drink and digging the people and the music at the Desert Lounge festival…

Desert Lounge is an Awesome Events festival, presented by Puro Urbano and Beach and taking place in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, from Friday 17th October to Saturday 18th. Basically, they’ll be taking over Pacha (you know, super-club Pacha, they’re everywhere) in Marrakech for “a chic and bohemian weekend of luxurious partying”. Awooga!!!
By day Awesome Events invites attendees to sample the scenery and dig the Morrocan magic, before enjoying a camel ride and partaking in a night of entertainment. Faithless legend Sister Bliss will headline Desert Lounge, with French DJ and producer, Dmitri From Paris, delving into everything from House to Funk.
The legendary Coldcut will also make the trip along with a selection of international acts and DJs. They include Real Ibizan luminary, Bruno; Madonna’s remix team, Chus and Caballos; as well as Momo, DJ Costa, Ben Sowton, Niko and Dutch master, DJ Scream. In addition, some local Morrocan talent will be spinning their yarn, with entertainment throughout the day and all weekend.
And so that you get to sample the full taste and flavour of Morocco, there’s going to be traditional Moroccan food available in the Crystal restaurant along with the finest wines. Sets are going to take place throughout the day in the glorious setting of Pacha’s swimming pool before heading over to the main-club for some hedonistic party madness. Double Awooga!!!
