MN2S are celebrating their 13th Birthday at The End on Friday 25th April. Thirteen years ago Robson and Jerome were at number one in the UK charts with Unchained Melody and the feud between Oasis and Blur was kicking off in spectacular style. Now look! My Chemical frigggin’ Romance can reach number one and the only battles going on are on the streets with knives and Kalashnikovs. Things have hardly improved; apart from Robson and Jerome’s retirement from music. Thank goodness MN2S can shine a light on an otherwise dreary period in our history with a whole host of top (ahem) house DJs.
Thirteen may be unlucky for some, but there’s nothing unfortunate about this birthday bash. Just look at the line-up! No stranger to MN2S, Fedde Le Grand will be pumping eardrums and filling zee dancefloor with his usual dip into the realms of house. The DJ and producer should be a familiar face having filled the airwaves for what seemed like a millennia with ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’ and summer anthem ‘The Creeps’. I love this city…
Joining Fedde will be a man known as ‘the master of disguise’ - Joey Negro. The reason for Joey’s nickname is because of the numerous alter-egos he’s gone by in the past. Z Factor, Raven, and Maize, to name but a few. On the 25th Joey will be taking to the decks as himself. But it’s not a case of plain and simple Joey, oh no; with a track record in house music as strong as an extra matured sliver of Roquefort, Joey promises to get arms a pumping and mid-riffs gyrating. BO!
Continuing the house theme will be legendary Ibiza DJ CJ Mackintosh. CJ was nominated as the ‘Best Ibiza House DJ’ and has grown a reputation as king of the mix CD. Old CJ can’t get enough of it; he clearly has the mix CD bug with his ‘Ministry of Sound Sessions’ almost gaining the lead on the ‘NOW’ series. Almost. Making up the bill will be Miami legend Brian Tappert and MN2S residents The Jinks and Danism.
Oh, and we’ve been assured that Robson and Jerome won’t be making their comeback despite the internet rumors, so all the more reason to pop the cork and celebrate!
