 When daffs rise like phallic symbols from England’s pastoral land, and blossom in a sea of yellow, you just know its March. We love March, and so should you, for not only is it a beautiful month but it marks Wax:On’s descent upon Newcastle’s Digital. Which is, well, also beautiful.
This time round Wax:On welcome break heroes Plump DJs to the fold. Messrs Andy Gardner and Lee Rous have grabbed break-beat by both arms, pulled it apart limb by limb, and mixed it with every electro-genre you could possibly imagine. Not only do the boys have break-beat fans bowing down in honour, but the majority of the dance fraternity as well.
The Bucharest Bomber, Rhadoo, has exploded onto the techno scene in the last eighteen months, blowing DC10’s Circo Loco away in Ibiza as well as dancefloors nationwide. As part of RPR Soundsytem, alongside Raresh and Pedro, Rhadoo is already well-known by tech-heads the world over. However, on his own, the Bomber’s sets are a different ballgame altogether. Oh yeah! A performance at Wax:On will be a mind-blowing experience.
Leeds lads Audiojacks will liven the night up with their usual array of bleeps and basslines. Having signed to Ralph Lawson’s 2020 Vision label, playing underground sets the world-over, the boys offer a Berty Bassett assortment of delineate house, techno and electro. Whilst Wax:On regulars, People Get Real, will be supplying the soundtrack to a night of dirt, dance and debauchery.
