Why do people try and hold a conversation with a mouthful of sandwich? It’s absolutely horrific.
The worst is when they’re trying to tell a funny story and start laughing. You have to shield yourself from spit and shrapnel. Worse still is when you’re eating!
The risk of cross contamination increases two-fold. Sometimes you just want to shout: PACK IT IN YOU DIRTY BASTARD, YOU’RE INFECTING MY DOUGHNUT!
It’s enough to drive anyone insane.
On the subject of insanity, Play It By Ear Club (PIBEC) is back on May 30th with an all female line-up of acts and DJs. To be honest, Planet Notion doesn’t know whether it’s insane or not, we’re just guessing.
Plus the line-up indicates that it could well be…
For example, Polly Scattergold will be playing. We checked out her MySpace and were welcomed by the lyric: YOU CAN CALL ME A FRAUD, YOU CAN SPIT ON MY FRENCH KNICKERS, YOU CAN CALL ME A WHORE…
Polly’s music is awash with synths, beats, paranoia and sweet sounding vocals, pop guitars and drums. Nice.
Also on the bill is Lisa Mitchell. Once again, we checked out her MySpace.
From what we can gather it’s folk-tinged pop, whimsical songs of love and loss and how they can drive you insane.
Which we can more than relate to. A good line-up so far, then?
Finally, Like a Thief will take to PIBEC. We apologise for our lack of knowledge on the current music scene, but we had to check out her MySpace too.
Once again there’s a sense that this girl is a big failure when it comes to relationships. Poor lass. Like a Thief has a bit more of a soulful vibe, making it a pretty eclectic line-up.
Resident DJs Gay For Disco, Axl’s Hoes and Dave ‘Double D’ Depares will provide electronically mashed-up indie tunes between and after sets.
