Kaiser Chiefs
29/03/2007
TOUR STARTS MARCH 2: I'm a great believer in the old adage that you can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. How else can the dominance of bands like the Kaiser Chiefs be explained? Admittedly, they released some cracking singles, but a few good songs doth not a great band make. Furthermore, when compared to the better bands that came out at the same time as them a couple of years ago, they did seem to be little more than the cabaret crowd pleasers. It did make for an entertaining gig at the time, but it doesn't necessarily indicate longevity. Still, I get the feeling that they shall be rumbled on the release of their second album. Besides, if they do stay around too long, more people might begin to become suspicious at the fact that Ricky Wilson seems to have been hovering around the 28 years old mark for a while now.....
