Musicians seem to be unaware that there are actually other places in this country other than London, much to the detriment of music fans outside the capital. However, thanks to us kind folks at Notion giving you enough of a heads up, you can book your train ticket with plenty of time and take advantage of a supersaver deal. However, if you’re living in the capital, you can’t pay ahead and the tube ticket will probably cost the same as a return fair from Glasgow. Still, some good music at the end of your journey should make it all worthwhile. First of all, Airhammer, led by the Reverend Ben Smith (he really is a man of the cloth) and supported by the second Aaron Elvis I’ve ever heard of, will be showing why they are the most fantastically deranged rock act out there. Thankfully they believe that music should be kept ever so slightly unhinged. Dr Octagon, Kool Keith himself, is playing at the Jazz Cafe on the 22nd of March. The man is like the evil scientist of hip hop, and an evening in his company is to realise just how much many of today’s supposed hip hop stars lack. Continuing our journey through music’s more weird and wonderful realms, check out Blue Bambinos at Leonards on the 25th. This is a band who cook up a fantastic brew of off-kilter blues that will leave you wondering precisely what it is that they did to you, but being grateful either way. After all that, a trip to London-On-Sea is in order for the superbly sexy electo stylings of Dragonette. Brighton seems like the ideal place to host their sassy live show and we heartily recommend that you go. Dress appropriately though, you’re representing our good name. Until next time, stay safe out there, and if you should come across Towers Of London, remember that we’re all more rock and roll than them.
