It’s that time of year again; when the old reflect on days of yonder, the lonesome wait (head in hands) for cupid’s interception, and the debauched yearn for high-times, music and merriment. Yes, you guessed it; it’s Valentine’s Day once more.
Transient continue their love affair with monthly abode The Horse and Groom on February 16th and the small, intimate pub is fast-rising as a chip off the ‘ol Shoreditch block.
Special guest for Transient’s Valentine spectacular will be DJ and producer Tom Taylor. For those unaware of his talents let’s fill in the gaps, for Mr. Taylor is quite a man when it comes to mashing-up and mixing any given track. As one half of 2020 Vision’s infamous electro synth-funk double-act, The Electric Press, zee man is quite zee DJ.
Recent hit ‘Reevaluate’, coupled with some bad-boy remixes of Daft Punk, Armand, and the Buick Project (to name but a few), are but a dose of Taylor’s résumé. Throw in some sets at Leeds’ infamous Back to Basics, and a residency at London’s notorious DDD, and you go some way to understanding why Taylor’s appearance has heads a-turning; and why the little pub in Curtain Road is acquiring such a splendid rep.
As well as the balance perfecto of Taylor’s techno, deep house and funk, resident DJs Ad Jones and Dan Kinasz will be getting intimate on the decks. Why Horse and Groom… are you trying to seduce me?
