Work is so dull, so mundane, the same old f*cking story. Occasionally something happens to momentarily brighten proceedings, but these incidences are few and far between.

And many people have it worse than us. Worse than waiting, waiting, waiting for something to happen from one day to the next. Some people wait YEARS for something to happen.

Finding two ‘team members’ f*cking on the boss’ desk. A pigeon flying into a window. ASBO kids throwing eggs at the building. The mail guy sh*tting his pants… etc.

We quite like the idea of a mouse chewing through someone’s computer wires and causing the whole network to crash. Yeah. That would be great.

Don’t get us wrong, we wouldn’t want business to seize forever. Just a week or so. Hmmm… does sabotage really work like in the movies or is it just a myth like the leprechaun?

Before we ponder that question, here’s a preview for the next Twisted Licks event.

This one will mark the album launch of a band Twisted Licks holds dear to its bosom: Acoustic Ladyland. It’ll be taking place on July 9th at Shoreditch venue Cargo.

Acoustic Ladyland will celebrate the release of their new album, the follow-up to the jazz/punk band’s critically acclaimed 2006 offering Skinny Gin, by headlining a bill featuring The Invisible and melodic experimentalists Grasscut.

Living With A Tiger marks a slight change in direction for Acoustic Ladyland, a four-piece who received the BBC Jazz Award for Best Band back in 2006.

We haven’t heard the album, but have been told to expect hip-hop and grime influences among the usual hardcore, avant-jazz offerings. Apparently, they’re f*cking great live, to boot.

The Invisible burst onto the scene with the release of their self-titled debut album earlier this year. It’s pop Jim, but not as we know it.

Actually, we haven’t heard them, but they’ve been compared to TV On The Radio and are very highly rated. Grasscut offer glitchy electro with stunning melodic vocals for a truly unique experience.

Now then; how much do mice cost in the pet shop these days?
