14/11/2007 Canadian anthemic rock + Scouse electro-Indie rock = ? No, it’s not Bryan Adams singing Butterfly McQueen, nor anything else from the Boo Radley’s repertoire. It’s Liverpudlian Indie-rockers Clinic supporting Arcade Fire. Shock horror!
Yep, the tour-shy four-piece will be delivering some fast-paced Indie-electronica to warm the cockles at Canadian clan Arcade Fire’s live dates this winter. Fans can expect a funk-fuelled rocket from the lads, whose unique sound is incomparable to many other bands. Arcade Fire personally invited the scouse-clan to support them, having frequently covered their single ‘Distortions’ in live sets throughout the year.
Clinic will also be offering cards for attendees to look out for in a Treasure Hunt style shindig at the dates. The cards contain special codes to download rare songs and videos from their large back catalogue. The good news is we’ve been assured there’ll be no crocodiles, parrots or walking the plank. Phew! My boat practically capsized under a tidal wave of sweat.
For those who didn’t have the joy of a leprechaun or rabbit’s paw and failed to get a ticket for the Arcade Fire dates, Clinic will be headlining at Wrexham’s Central Station on the 22nd. Expect a vast array of tunes old and fresh for fans and newcomers alike.
