Just this morning one of them was reading his newspaper on the number 35. He was sitting behind us and it kept brushing against the back of our head.
He didn’t care. We were invisible to him. Worthless. Like a fly on a piece of sh*t.
Maybe it was the heat or the tiredness or the sense of impending doom, but we momentarily lost it and shouted: FOR F*CK SAKES!
It was quite liberating. Well, it was until we arrived in the office and sat down at our desk. Let’s just say that the doom is no longer impending. It’s right here, right now.
To think that the guy in the suit is probably getting his sheaf cleaned by his secretary. He wins hands down.
On the subject of winners and losers, Vince Power’s Hop Farm festival, taking place from Saturday 4th – Sunday 5th July in Kent, has revealed details off its 5-a-side Celebrity football competition.
The festival will present two days of football in association with Soccer Six, pitting ex-pros such as Everton goalkeeper Neville Southall and ex-Man U winger Lee Sharpe, against teams of television personalities, bands and musicians including Noah and the Whale and 2 Many DJs (pictured).
Guest teams will include members of Big Brother, Channel 4’s Shipwrecked, Football Punk magazine and a team featuring the guy who married Jade Goody.
Now entering its second year, Hop Farm has changed from a single day festival to a weekend event, with boutique camping facilities, quality food, traditional ales and some of the best acts spread across THREE stages.
Acts will include Doves, Etienne De Crecy, 2 Many DJs, Scratch Perverts, The View, Editors, Echo and the Bunnymen, Super Furry Animals, British Sea Power, Ladyhawke and headliner Paul Weller.
The Hop Farm Festival 2009 is a truly unique experience, exclusively themed as an event totally free of ticket registration, with No VIP areas, No Branding, No Sponsorship.
The festival’s debut year received glowing reviews across the board, not least because of headliner Neil Young’s performance – widely considered a highlight of the festival season.
