26/08/2008 Had he decided to play some good ol’ fashioned ruggers or had a BBQ or something, Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno could have died. This follows a report in The Sun that the guitarist found an unexploded World War II grenade in his back garden.
Bomb-disposal experts were called to deal with the grenade and Serge's whole street in West London was evacuated. Speaking of the incident, Serge revealed just how close he came to potential death.
“All it could have taken was the vibrations from a kickabout,” the guitarist revealed. “Some loud music and we would have been blown to pieces in a pile of rubble and smoke. I’m 27 as well and there’s a tradition of musicians meeting their end at my age. It’s all sorted now and we should be moving in there in a few weeks.”
According to Planet Notion's sources, Kasabian were one of the standout acts at Creamfields over the weekend. The band will also be playing the Hydro-Connect Festival in Scotland this coming weekend. |
