Led Zeppelin have 'apparently' confirmed they will be headlining a festival this year… in America.
Despite being against a follow up to the bands sell-out O2 Arena show, singer Robert Plant has had a “change of heart,” and the legendary rockers are set to play at Tennessee’s Bonnaroo festival in June.
“They are going to play the Bonnaroo festival,” a source confirmed, “which runs from June the 12th to the 15th. This news will drive their fans absolutely wild.”
Furthermore, according to the source Led Zep could be set to add further dates to their schedule. “They (fans) have been bombarding their website to get back together for good but only lead singer Robert Plant wasn’t keen to commit.
“Now he’s had a change of heart and if it all goes well they are also talking about touring.” Speaking to the Daily Mirror, the source added that ticket-sellers “have been told a world tour will take place, there’s just some ironing out of contracts to be done.”
According to the source, a tour would kick-off in May, and with combined merchandising could land the band up to a billion pounds.
Last month organisers denied that the band would headline the Bonnaroo festival, but with Plant’s apparent change of heart, there’s every possibility that Led Zeppelin could play in 2008. We can but pray.
