Maximo Park’s lead guitarist, Duncan Lloyd has revealed the release date of his new solo album. Seeing Double will be released on regular CD format and a special edition 2-disc CD containing special acoustic performances.
Though similarities to Maximo Park are apparent on the album, due largely to Lloyd’s unique guitar style, Lloyd also takes up the mantra of vocalist. "I guess the album's the sound of someone writing songs," Lloyd comments, "capturing that initial excitement of a new idea, and sharing that with the listener."
The Seeing Double special edition will initially be limited to 2,000 copies and priced at £12.99. Although, if Lloyd becomes really, really massive and outsells Leona Lewis or something, that £12.99 could potentially double in the future.
If you’re a Maximo Park fanatic and you’re on their mailing list, you may have received a link enabling you to pre-order a copy of the Seeing Double special edition via Recordstore.co.uk. And if you’re not a Maximo Park fantatic, you can still get your hands on one by visiting Lloyd’s MySpace page.
We may be a miserable bunch at Planet Notion close to the brink of alcoholism, but that doesn’t mean we’re not generous. That’s why we’ve embedded the video to Lloyd’s new single, Suzee, for your viewing pleasure.
New single 'Suzee' is released on Warp Records September 29th followed by the release of debut album Seeing Double October 6th.
