Sugababes launch BT 'Isle of Wight Festival' sponsorship!
02/05/2008
“The Sugababes,” I hear you splutter, “but why are you discussing their pert posteriors on Planet Notion?” We’re talking about The Sugababes as a link to the Isle of White Festival, after the all-girl three-piece performed on the River Thames to celebrate BT’s sponsorship of the event.

The girls sang two tracks on Tuesday aboard BT’s ‘Open 60 yacht’; it was a double celebration as Dame Ellen MacArthur’s team will be using the yacht for the famous solo Vendeé Globe race this winter.

Anyway, enough of Ellen and yachts, and back to the music. The Sugababes will of course be playing at the Isle of Wight Festival this year, taking place from the 13th to the 15th of June at Seaclose Park.

This year’s festival line-up is bigger, badder and uglier than ever. Well, when we say ugly we mean that in a positive way. Ugly as in raw and dirty - a punk spirit deep in the pit of its soul… Well, sort of. The headliners for the three nights will be Kaiser Chiefs, the Sex Pistols and Sting and The Police.

Other acts confirmed include Ian Brown, Iggy and The Stooges (YES!), The Zutons, The Cribs, Kate Nash, The Kooks, The Enemy, and Joe Lean and the Jing Jang John.
