SKETCHBEAT
SKETCHBEAT, have a distinctive funk-rock sound that has been likened to ‘a blend of Queen, Muse and James Brown’. With punchy drums, funky riffs, trumpet hooks and massive stage presence, the band has rapidly built up a large, loyal fan base.

ABOUT ME:

The band formed in Autumn ‘05 when London Uni. mates, Paul (guitar) and Ed (drums), teamed up with Ed’s school mate Mike (trumpet), and Rich (bass). Since then, the band has been writing and gigging tirelessly in London and across the South of England. Over recent months, the band done several live radio sessions and played a series of stonking gigs at respected and established venues including CARGO in Shoreditch, The Borderline in Soho and The Camden Barfly. Sketchbeat can be heard on their new four track EP, FUNNY OLD WORLD.

What it is to be an artist “This for every man and woman, who’s been blessed as an artist, Stressed by bullshit and impossible targets- But anything is possible as long as you start it, Be it world domination or a patch of the market- My mind takes sabbaticals to random locations, Comes back erratical with some rap inspirations- Don a suite of armour save a beautiful maiden, Slay a dinosaur with the strength of a caveman- We put pencil to paper, turn lead into gold, Spray a melody that will tickle your nose- Or tell a horror story that will turn your blood cold, We have no plateaus we continually grow- Fill a blank page that will live through the ages, Release an idea from the bar of its cages- Growing like an infant in its early stages, Take a step back and say “Did I create this?”

A poet named braver”
